Jiang Suliu, a top student from an elite wealthy family, is assigned a new deskmate named Yue Yin. Rumored to be a neglected stepdaughter brought into the Shen family, she appears stunningly beautiful yet acts erratically, handing out flyers for a fictional cult dedicated to a deity called Hydra. Unbeknownst to Jiang Suliu, Yue Yin is an actual evil god from the Void Cosmos, trapped in a human body after being thrown into a supernatural urban novel. Her goal is to gather followers and faith to reconnect with her true form and return home. Living as a high school student is exhausting for her, and she relies on her reluctant half-brother, Shen Xiaodi, for support while navigating the hostile environment of the Shen household, where servants like Auntie Zhang openly disrespect her.

The dynamic shifts when a severe storm hits the city. Jiang Suliu, concerned for Yue Yin after seeing her stranded in the rain, offers her his umbrella. Yue Yin casually claims she is a god and predicts the storm will clear, which it immediately does. Later, Jiang Suliu is caught in a catastrophic supernatural event where malevolent spirits, born from human negative emotions, attack the city. An A-level entity, a three-headed serpent monster, wreaks havoc while the Paranormal Incident Management Squad is unable to contain it due to a coordinated conspiracy that diverted their resources. Trapped and facing death, Jiang Suliu remembers Yue Yin’s earlier promise to help if he called her, and he contacts her using the flyer she gave him.

Yue Yin arrives not to fight, but while eating grilled cold noodles. She is appalled by the monsters’ lack of discipline and their disregard for the law. Displaying power far beyond the A-level classification, she effortlessly defeats the serpent entity and creates a massive silver barrier to protect the civilians. Her intervention saves countless lives and reveals her true nature as a deity to Jiang Suliu, who instantly becomes her devoted follower. The Paranormal Incident Management Squad, led by Captain Li Changhe, interrogates Yue Yin but finds her cooperative and helpful. They learn that ability users are chosen by gods to fight malevolent spirits, but Yue Yin’s worship of Hydra, an obscure Outer God, confuses them. Despite suspicions, her heroic actions lead to her release, though she is placed under surveillance due to the political intrigue surrounding the incident.

As Yue Yin attempts to rebuild her cult on Earth, she creates a social media account but faces ridicule from netizens who mistake her for a scammer, similar to a fake Qin Shi Huang who had recently defrauded people online. Jiang Suliu, now fully committed to serving his goddess, uses his family’s resources to expose and punish the scammer, sending him a large sum of money as a trap. Meanwhile, Yue Yin receives threatening letters from an unknown organization demanding she return to them, which she dismisses by destroying the correspondence. She also confronts a nightmare spirit that attacks her at school, revealing her terrifying true form with tentacles and eyes to devour the ghost, demonstrating that she is far more dangerous than any ordinary malevolent spirit.

The story establishes a world where supernatural entities are managed by government agencies, and gods derive power from human faith. Yue Yin must navigate the complexities of modern Earth society, dealing with hostile family members, dangerous spirits, and secret organizations while trying to amass enough followers to escape. Jiang Suliu’s transformation from a skeptical student to a fanatic servant highlights the growing bond between the deity and her first follower. The narrative sets the stage for future conflicts involving other ability users, rogue organizations seeking to exploit Yue Yin’s power, and the ongoing struggle to maintain the secrecy of the supernatural world from the general public.
