Fang Shiqing is a twenty-seven-year-old fashion editor-in-chief who grew up in an academic family. After studying design abroad, he returned to the capital and built a successful career. He shares a close bond with his elder sister, Fang Mingyu, a judge, who took him in when he first arrived in the city. To maintain appropriate boundaries, Fang Shiqing kept his distance from Mingyu and her husband, Wang Qi, a tall, disciplined former sanda athlete and government official. The narrative begins with a chance encounter on a flyover where Fang Shiqing’s car breaks down. Zheng Qiuyang, a jewelry designer and new acquaintance, stops to help and offers his own vehicle so Fang Shiqing can attend an important meeting. This act of kindness leads to a growing friendship. Meanwhile, Fang Shiqing’s professional life intersects with Yuan Rui, a struggling model he had previously pursued romantically.
