Kaelon Blackthorn, a man crushed by poverty and ridicule, is handed an ancient key by a mysterious old man, who claims it unlocks a doorway to another world. Drunk and hopeless, Kaelon uses the key by accident and wakes up in the world of Thalindor.
In this new world, Kaelon must learn to wield magic, protect himself and fight enemies who seeks the key for their own purposes. Will he become Thalindor's savior from evil people or will he let the key and the power it gives corrupts him?
