Upon reaching Wangzhou, Qi Du navigates the dangerous ruins of the Ancient Human Historical Museum, where a Dragon Blood Vine protects the egg. He defeats a peak-Level 6 zombie to secure a high-grade crystal core and successfully retrieves the egg, which recognizes him and attaches itself to his care. He vows to protect it this time, ensuring it never faces the danger it did in his past life.
During the journey back to Shuguang City, Qi Du encounters three individuals who appear to be survivors from a half-Fallen Zone. Using his keen observation and knowledge of future events, he deduces they are infected by a mutant plant and have been turned. He executes them without hesitation, demonstrating his cold, calculated nature. Qi Du returns home to care for Yun Zhi, who is now fully hatched and displays a playful, dependent personality. The story establishes Qi Du's dual goals: to uncover the truth behind his parents' murder and dismantle the Zhou family from the shadows, while simultaneously raising Yun Zhi in secrecy, protecting the powerful creature from those who would seek to exploit it.
