Tang Susu, a talented pianist from an ordinary background, transmigrates into a school romance novel she had previously read. She inhabits the body of Tang Susu, a mean and foolish female supporting character who is obsessed with the male lead, Jin Yuhao, and is frequently bullied by his lackey, Li Yang. The system informs her that she must survive for three years in this world before the time-space tunnel reopens, allowing her to return home. Determined to avoid the tragic fate of the original character, she decides to ignore the main plot and focus on completing her studies while quietly waiting for her release.

During a chaotic birthday party where Li Yang forces her to wear a ridiculous cosplay outfit, Tang Susu finally stands up for herself. She publicly humiliates Li Yang by threatening to splash champagne on him, then calmly leaves the venue. On the night of the anticipated attack, Tang Susu rushes to his location with a rolling pin, intending to protect him. She confronts the gang members, who mock her and attack. He Zhimou, seeing her in danger, pushes her out of the way and takes a blow meant for her. Just as the situation escalates, police sirens are heard, and the thugs flee. The arrival of the police allows Tang Susu and He Zhimou to escape unharmed, though he is injured.

After the incident, Tang Susu insists that He Zhimou move to a safer location to avoid further retaliation from the gang. She offers to cover the costs, demonstrating her commitment to his well-being. He Zhimou, who has always been isolated and mistrustful, begins to show signs of softening toward her.
