Amazing book, with a great plot, premise, and characters. Firstly, I really enjoy the themes that the author explores within this story. Themes of prejudice and dehumanization, as well as themes of justice and the harms of altruism. The author takes the time to dig into these themes through his characters, which are masterly crafted. All of the characters are interesting and a lot of them have been really well explored. Despite how early on it is, a lot of the characters are already very fleshed out. Hikaru and Suijin's altruism, Kamis struggle with self confidence, Raiden's battle with his mission v. self. Amazing characters for those who like that. Wow, a great story indeed! The one that catched my attention the most was the fact that the story had been written in the first pov which is pretty uncommon to see.     The story is smooth and engaging, the FL is written very well which is a rare sight to see.
