Story Synopsis:
When the Demons first invaded in the year 1830, they brought terror and suffering to the world. However, through unifying against a common foe, the nations of the world fought back. In the end, the Demons ended up becoming the hunted. Their Demon Cores harvested to fuel humanity’s newest technological revolution.
Within this brave new world, Lu Cain contentedly lived a normal life. Surrounded by his adopted family and friends. However, his peaceful world was shattered when a terrifying new type of Demon attacked his home and his people.

Author Notes:
This was written for Writing Prompts Contest #13: Steampunk. It’s an effort on my part to write a short story.

This was pretty awesome for a short story. I would love to read a world based from this. Good job. Nice background and storyline. Fights could use a bit more gorey details but it didn't detract from the quality.
