"Help me, please," Bella begged, clutching his hands tightly.
His dark eyes, void of warmth, stared at her with an unsettling coldness. "Why should I get involved with those thugs to help you?" he asked harshly.
"I’ll do anything you ask," she replied without thinking, desperation clear in her voice. "Just save me from them."
He demanded something Bella had never imagined, even in her wildest dreams: a contract marriage!

Bella gulped, nervous. "What if I do?" A sliver of defiance slipped through her lips. She was already drawn to his handsome appearance.
He squeezed her jaw and hissed, "You will regret it."
"What if you started liking me?" she dared to ask.
He leaned closer, his breath warm against her ear. "No chance," he scoffed. "You're not my type."
Bella’s heart sank.
