The Capitalist Heiress Awakens, Empties the Family Fortune, and Follows the Army

In winter 1966 Shanghai, Lu Rao discovers she is trapped inside a period novel titled "The Sixties Underworld Heiress: Reborn for Revenge, Then Cherished by All." A scavenging system awakens her consciousness, granting her the ability to steal plot advantages from the story's female lead, Qiao Shuxin. The Lu family, once a powerful underworld-turned-legitimate dynasty, faces imminent political persecution. Lu Rao's second uncle, Gu Yucheng, who raised her for ten years, has imprisoned her father Lu Fengtang in a basement for a decade, seeking the family's hidden fortune. Gu Yucheng brings his illegitimate daughter Qiao Shuxin to the Lu residence, claiming she is the true heir, and forces Lu Rao to surrender all family assets before exiling her to the countryside.

Qiao Shuxin is also reborn, carrying memories of a previous life where she tortured Lu Rao to death, framed her as a spy, and squandered the Lu fortune abroad before dying in misery. Armed with this knowledge, Qiao Shuxin attempts to seize the Lu family token and eliminate anyone connected to Lu Rao. However, Lu Rao anticipates these moves. Lu Rao rescues her father, hides him in her spatial dimension, and begins systematically looting the Lu family's hidden treasure vault—a massive underground chamber containing gold, silver, antiques, weapons, and land deeds. She empties the vault completely, leaving no trace behind.

Lu Rao also secures supplies by raiding the residences of corrupt Lu family collateral branches who betrayed the family. She steals grain, meat, cookware, and other essentials needed for survival in the countryside. Before leaving Shanghai, she sends food and instructions to her former teacher, an elderly professor facing political persecution, ensuring he and his wife can relocate safely to the Northeast. She returns to the Lu residence, where Qiao Shuxin has moved into Lu Rao's bedroom and stolen family heirlooms. Lu Rao confronts Qiao Shuxin, slapping her multiple times and asserting her dominance. The system triggers a loot collection, returning the four dowry chests to Lu Rao's possession. Gu Yucheng discovers both Lu Fengtang's body and the dowry chests are missing, but Lu Rao has already prepared to flee the Lu family. The story follows Lu Rao as she uses her scavenged advantages, spatial abilities, and martial arts training to survive the political turmoil and reclaim everything stolen from her family, while systematically dismantling the forces that betrayed the Lu dynasty.
