The village of Emberfall has long been a place of peace, its people sheltered from the greater conflicts of the world. But when a chill wind carries whispers of an ancient threat, the illusion of safety is shattered. Aedric Thorne, a young fisherman with no remarkable qualities beyond his piercing gray eyes, finds himself at the center of a battle he never asked for.

When a veiled stranger gifts him an amulet imbued with the power to seal the Shadows—a malevolent force that threatens to consume the world—Aedric is forced to confront a truth long buried: he is the descendant of the Guardians, an ancient order tasked with protecting the realm.

As shadowy creatures lay siege to Emberfall, Aedric reluctantly embraces his newfound role. With the help of Mara, a fiery blacksmith's daughter, he sets out to uncover the secrets of the amulet and the long-lost Guardians. Along the way, they encounter allies and enemies, face harrowing trials, and uncover the truth about the Shadows’ origins.

But wielding the amulet’s power comes with a heavy toll, and Aedric must decide how much he’s willing to sacrifice to save the people he loves. As the line between light and darkness blurs, the fate of the world rests in the hands of an untested hero, a mysterious artifact, and the choices they make together.

The story is good but the translation starts going bad from chapter 101 it gets confusing so I don't suggest that anyone read this novel until they translate it properly or else you'll feel incomplete without being able to read the rest of the story because you won't be able to understand it

Having read first chapters i can say for sure that this is one of the best things i've read ( if we talk bout e-novels, ofk). i like the way you translate it, so easy to read&understand, do not drop it! Looking for new chapters.Don't mind folks whining about slow speed, i do translations too ( in russian) and i know that that's not as easy as everybody thinks!  thanks for your work!

I will touch a few aspects of the novel:First comes story development - While some people prefer to see quick power up boosts, I appreciate the slow development of the story. I firmly believe MC needs time to develop even if he is a genius - it makes no sense if he suddenly becomes the strongest in the world.Second comes romance - From the former novel of the author I believe he is against useless harems with countless useless and weak wives everywhere. However, in 60 chapters only, MC already has "collected" 2 wives, making me wonder if it's a harem system instead of a villain one. Hopefully, author won't turn it into another generic harem novel, where every woman is completely useless and barely gets story time after he conquers her. As MC should already know about all outstanding women in advance (if I got it right he is in a world of a novel he has read in his previous life), maybe he has already set his eyes on a few women?Last aspect I want to talk about is the villain aspect - Although MC seems not to hesitate to kill some men, he seems to have a soft spot for women - he never considers killing the heroines of the protagonists he is hunting, insetad, he only tries to charm them first. While it seems to make him seem less vile, I guess its up to author how to set his characteristics as he doesn't really have to be a merciless mass murderer in order to be a villain.I feel it's too soon to comment about the system setting, as too much info is lacking - we don't know the criterions that need to be met in order to kill a protagonist, we don't know how the lottery works (somehow he always gets 2 prizes every time insetad of one) and so on, I just assume author will reveal it through the story.Keep up the good work and good luck to the author, it's a great story!

I’m at chapter 50, and for me, it was detailed, or should i say ’overly detailed’ to the point that even an unimportant scene could take up half a chapter or more… And because of how detailed it is, chapters are quite often being repeated from different perspective, or a particular topic for that matter. All in all, I liked details in my stories, since those small details can really bring a story to life, but this novel add it a little TOO MUCH it felt quite repetitive and VERY slow-paced.
