Emma Steel has always dreamed of being a top-notch detective, much to her father’s disapproval. Freshly establishing her agency, Emma’s spirits are dwindling under the weight of mounting bills and scepticism. One dreary afternoon, she stumbles upon a spirited Pomeranian at an animal shelter. To her astonishment, this feisty furball seems to possess uncanny detective skills. Desperate for assistance and companionship, Emma takes in the clever canine, naming him Sherlock.

Just as she’s on the brink of giving up, a mysterious phone call from Lord Baxter, an English nobleman, steers her fate in an unexpected direction. The job offer sounds too good to be true, but Emma’s curiosity wins over caution. Upon arriving at Lord Baxter’s grand countryside mansion, Emma is horrified to watch the police busy on the crime scene, drawing the image of a body sprawled on the library floor.

Before she can even gather her wits, she encounters his brother, a dashing Duke with a brooding presence who from the start takes a serious interest in her.

With suspicions rising and a tangled web of (long) buried family secrets to unravel and with her own newly growing feelings for the Duke, Emma and her four-legged partner dive head first into a case that could make or break her fledgling career and her heart in the process.

"No grounds to judge? Show our kindness in hopes of their change of heart? Cleansing their souls? Have you gone mad, brother?! Gifts will not make one change out of their evil habits, but will only ignite the flames of greed deeply embedded within their souls! They will not change for the better, they will feel rewarded for all their disgusting actions! You must hault from your visits!" Yelled Uta in his brother's face with seething anger right after grinding his teeth with much pressure.
