Space: I’m a Lazy Bum With Nine Lives In The Apocalypse

Lin Mingmei dies repeatedly in a zombie apocalypse, serving as a human shield for Gao Lang, a man who exploits her resurrection ability while betraying her emotionally and physically. After her final death, she awakens in her university classroom on the exact day the virus outbreak begins. Recognizing the rebirth, she confronts her past self’s naivety and realizes Gao Lang is a manipulative scumbag who used her until he awakened powers. Instead of seeking revenge immediately, she prioritizes survival, using her knowledge of future events to secure supplies and fortify her apartment before the chaos fully erupts.

As the apocalypse begins, Lin Mingmei discovers that her grandmother’s jade bracelet contains a ten-square-meter storage space. The space activates when her blood, now mutated by the virus, touches it. She realizes that in her previous life, Gao Lang stole this bracelet and claimed the space ability as his own, using it to gain status and attract followers, including Luo Xinxin. Determined to change her fate, Lin Mingmei hoards food, water, and weapons, filling her storage space while avoiding the initial panic. She also learns that she retains her resurrection ability, granting her nine lives, but resolves not to waste them recklessly.

During a supply run, Lin Mingmei encounters Qin Yueming, a soldier who was bitten by a zombie but is undergoing a feverish awakening process. Despite her initial reluctance to help anyone, she treats his wound and hides with him in a pharmacy. During the night, both suffer from high fevers caused by the virus. In a chaotic encounter, their bodies become entangled, and Lin Mingmei unconsciously absorbs two of Qin Yueming’s latent superpowers: strength and water. The absorption causes her storage space to upgrade, evolving into a larger dimension inhabited by a spirit named Heiqiu. Qin Yueming survives but loses his strength and water abilities, retaining only fire power, unaware that Lin Mingmei has taken his potential.

Lin Mingmei returns to her apartment with Qin Yueming and a rescued toddler who is also feverish. She learns that the child may awaken a speed ability. Using her new strength power, she continues scavenging, looting a supermarket and an auto exhibition center to stockpile vehicles and resources. She encounters hostile survivors who murder others for supplies, reinforcing her belief that humans are more dangerous than zombies. She also discovers that the space spirit can produce a single drop of spiritual water daily, which restores stamina and heals injuries, making it crucial for her survival.

As days pass, Lin Mingmei trains her body and manages her resources while keeping Qin Yueming and the child in her apartment. She maintains a cold exterior, refusing to form emotional attachments, but acknowledges Qin Yueming’s reliability. The story follows her strategic efforts to grow stronger, absorb more abilities from other survivors, and prepare for the long-term apocalypse. Her primary goal shifts from mere survival to reclaiming what was stolen from her and ensuring she never again falls victim to manipulation or betrayal.
