Ronan Kessler, an orphan from the slums of Ashenford, had only one dream-to Awaken and become a Hunter, to rise above the filth and carve his name into history. But when his Awakening fails and the System deems him worthless, he is cast aside, doomed to a life of insignificance.
Yet, as he stands on the precipice of despair, something else calls to him. A voice from the abyss, a force older than the System itself. It offers him a choice: remain nothing, or embrace the forbidden.
Marked by the Devourer's Curse, Ronan is no longer bound by the System's laws. He does not level up. He does not gain normal skills. Instead, he devours his enemies, assimilating their essence, evolving into something beyond human.
