After Sheng Jianan’s death, he transmigrated into a novel called {The Childhood Friend Can’t Win Against Fate} and became the character with the same name as him, who was doomed to die from illness as the tragic childhood friend of the main protagonist.

On the day he transmigrated, the little supporting character was sitting on the ground in a weak and sick manner. As soon as Sheng Jianan opened his eyes, he saw a soccer ball flying straight toward him and instinctively shut his eyes tightly.

When he opened them again, a handsome, cool and aloof boy was standing in front of him, shielding him from the ball with his back. The figure casted shadows under the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees.

From that moment on, Jiang Chi voluntarily took up the role of his bodyguard. They grew up together, becoming inseparable partners and childhood friends.

Upon realizing he’d transmigrated, Sheng Jianan cherished this new life, determined to nurture his health and live well. His childhood friend Jiang Chi was even more devoted to him, holding him with utmost care, fearing he’d break if he fell or melt if he was kept too close.

The two grew up together, inseparable to the point where all their classmates and friends teased them as a pair. Over time, everyone knew Jiang Chi was as straight as iron.

Sheng Jianan was aware of this as well. Before Jiang Chi’s destined love interest appeared, he was undeniably straight, to the point of distancing himself at the mere sight of anything gay. Therefore, Sheng Jianan always kept his feelings to himself, hiding them with care.

So when the protagonist finally appeared, Sheng Jianan quietly packed his things and ran away.
What he didn’t know was that, during the few days he was missing, Jiang Chi turned the entire city upside down searching for him.

The day Jiang Chi found him, Sheng Jianan was watching a handsome guy on stage perform a strip dance.
Suddenly, a pair of extremely familiar hands covered his eyes, and a dark, eerie voice whispered in his ear, “Nan Nan, my body is better-looking than his. Why not watch me instead?”

Only later did Sheng Jianan realize he had read a misleading pirated version. In truth, he was the one destined to turn Jiang Chi’s straight resolve.

A cold, sickly beauty (shou) x possessive and dominant (gong).
[In this story, the gong and shou are each other’s one and only true love.]

Doesn’t seem like the rest of the bad video game transmigration novel. Instead it kind of feels like The Legendary Mechanic but with a smaller ceiling.
