Across the boundless multiverse, where stars shared whispered secrets and galaxies spun like eternal dancers in a cosmic waltz, an unspoken agreement was forged. Ancient beings—older than time itself—gathered in a realm beyond mortal comprehension, where reality folded like origami and gravity was more suggestion than rule.

Known by countless titles—Titans, Elders, Primordials—they were revered as gods by mortals. Yet among themselves, they were rivals, uneasy allies, and occasional drinking companions with a penchant for initiating universe-shaking gambles.

Thus, they devised the Game: a grand contest of power spanning endless dimensions. Champions would be chosen to enact their will, wield their gifts, and should fate have a sense of humor become cosmic jesters. The reward? Total dominion over the multiverse. The stakes? Everything, from the fragile breath of mortals to the resonant songs of collapsing stars.

As for the rules? They were nebulous at best. The only unyielding truth was that once selected, a champion could not opt out though that didn’t stop a few from trying.

Currently my favourite active book. I am a big fan of all the Er Gen works and Pursuit of Truth does not fail to deliver. Containing the mystery and flavour of Er Gen's I Shall Seal The Heavens and the doom and gloom of Renegade Immortal, Er Gen has succeeded in creating a book that in the future can proudly stand at the forefront of the Chinese Immortal Genre. Thank you for reading my review!

*Evaluation written at chapter 105*This is a real hidden gem ! I usually like my reviews to be long and detailed, so for those of you who want to read my wandering thoughts, just read this : if you are tired of omniscient killing machines MCs with a dumbass system, this western view on eastern cultivation fantasy is very worth trying !don'tOnce in a while, just when you look through all the trashy generic novels being picked up on this site everyday and decide it is a waste of time to search for a new readable novel, you stumble on something that makes you think "well, maybe there is still hope around here after all..."This novel is one of those times.First of all, at least for me, NO FARKING SYSTEM ! The characters are talented, yes, but that's it. After that, they can only grow stronger with continuous hard work. No robotic voice in your head gifting you with a divine cultivation technique, a godly fist art or a heaven-grade flaming sword every two days. Just hard work. Basic, maybe too blunt for some, but precisely what I am looking for.The writing quality is the second big plus for me. I remember Chalky say it's his first novel, and God I wish I could write like that. The pacing is perfect, quite slow but I think it is the only way to truly bring life to the characters. They are very well written, each with their own distinct personality. The MC is not a mass psychopathic slaughterer, as so many others. In fact he could even be considered a good guy, just that he grew up getting used to obeying orders. Whatever they may be... but I have a feeling that may change in  the future. He does not win every fight, and he doesn't always make the best decisions. Some comments say he is weak and stupid. I say he is human. And still a rather strong  one. His main abilities and the techniques he acquires are are quite interesting, very unusual for the genre but quite well thought through. The story so far is interesting, and the world quite solid. However, as of now (chapter 105), the MC is just strong enough to start to have a real view on the continent and knows very little of what lies beyond. No arrogant young master needing a faceslap so far either as all characters, friends and foes, are rather well built and coherent. So is it perfect ? Obviously no, nothing is. But for now it is a damn good novel, and a refreshing version of eastern cultivation I, for one, very much needed. So thank you Chalky, and keep up the good work !
