Remarried to Another, Her Tyrant Ex-Husband Has Gone Mad

When bandits attack her carriage on the way to Yushan, she feigns blindness after hitting her head. Zhao Chu, who has infiltrated Wei State in disguise, rescues her. Mistaking him for her husband Chu Xiao due to her temporary blindness, Rong Ci clings to Zhao Chu. He notices her striking resemblance to his deceased first wife and becomes obsessed with keeping her. Despite Pu Xi’s suggestion to return her to secure a political advantage, Zhao Chu decides to take her to the Qin border, intending to make her his own.

As Zhao Chu carries Rong Ci away, Chu Xiao pursues them with his army. Zhao Shaoyou stands in their path to protect his mother figure, but Chu Xiao wounds him. Rong Ci, realizing the danger, reveals her true identity to Zhao Chu by calling him by name, hoping he will let her go to save her son. Zhao Chu, however, is undeterred. He shoots an arrow into Chu Xiao’s horse, causing it to rear up, and catches Rong Ci as she leaps from the carriage. He silences her cries with a handkerchief and rides away with her, leaving Chu Xiao furious and humiliated at the border. The incident escalates tensions between Qin and Chu, setting the stage for further conflict as Zhao Chu holds Rong Ci captive, determined to unravel her secrets and claim her for himself.
