Up until now, my thoughts are quite positive about this novel. The lengthy and irrelevant information dumps are indeed frustrating, but I find the trivia aspect intriguing, especially since I enjoy learning new things. I just wish the details were more pertinent to the storyline. I commend the translators for including a skip option, which makes the experience more bearable.
I believe the reason for these extensive dumps could be word count requirements. Perhaps authors earn based on word count, or there's a minimum limit for chapter length before publishing. The author might aim to produce numerous chapters, hence the content.
Despite the info dumps, the narrative itself is engaging, and I appreciate the well-written characters. The main character has distinct traits, avoiding the typical power trip or overpowered protagonist stereotype. He's not perfect, acknowledging his flaws without excessive self-doubt. His focus on more pressing matters suggests he may not be oblivious to romantic possibilities, but we'll see if romance plays a significant role. For now, I'm excited to see how the story unfolds.
