Reborn Before the Apocalypse: I Hoarded Supplies in My Space

Lin Wan dies in a frozen stairwell in March 2056, having lost her entire family to the extreme cold that follows a global climate collapse. In her final moments, she regrets her past greed, which led her to invest her family’s savings in the stock market and give away their food supplies to her deceptive neighbor, Zhou Qing. She vows revenge before succumbing to the cold. She awakens in her bed on June 5, 2055, realizing she has been reborn one month before the apocalypse begins. The disaster sequence starts with extreme heat, followed by torrential rains, floods, and finally, an eternal winter that destroys civilization.

Upon waking, Lin Wan confronts her past self’s naivety. She immediately rejects Zhou Qing, who attempts to lure her with poisoned water under the guise of friendship. Lin Wan realizes she must act alone to save her family, as they will not believe her warnings about the impending catastrophe. She begins stockpiling supplies, purchasing massive quantities of food, water, and medicine while pretending to prepare for a corporate team-building event. Her father, Lin Jianguo, is still being manipulated by stock market scams, and her mother, Li Shulan, is worried about her daughter’s sudden behavioral changes. Lin Wan resigns from her job at the Botanical Garden to focus entirely on survival preparations.

During a trip to buy medical supplies, Lin Wan encounters a dying old man in a gray robe. She saves him, and in return, he presses a jade pendant into her hand. The pendant merges with her palm, binding a Space Dimension to her soul. She discovers she can store non-living items in a time-stasis chamber, preserving them indefinitely, and can place living organisms in a dormancy state, effectively pausing their life processes. This ability becomes her most critical asset, allowing her to hoard unlimited supplies without physical storage constraints.

Lin Wan reveals her rebirth and the Space Dimension to her family by demonstrating her power. Initially terrified, her family quickly adapts when she explains the coming disasters. Her father, pragmatic and decisive, takes charge of liquidating their assets. They sell their apartment below market value to raise funds, combining their savings with the sale proceeds to finance a massive procurement operation. The family works together, with Lin Wan directing the purchases and her father and brother handling logistics.

The group buys vast amounts of rice, flour, canned goods, bottled water, and medical supplies from wholesale markets. They also acquire generators, fuel, weapons, and cold-weather gear. Lin Wan uses her Space Dimension to store everything, keeping their apartment seemingly empty to avoid suspicion. She also rents a high-rise apartment on higher ground to avoid the predicted floods. As the heatwave intensifies, the family prepares for the inevitable collapse of society. Lin Wan’s primary goal is to ensure her family survives the coming years of scarcity and violence, using her foreknowledge and supernatural storage to outlast the apocalypse.
