Three months after a catastrophic earthquake in Wenzhou unleashed a virus that transformed humanity into zombies, Jian An leads a survival team consisting of Liao Liao, a physically enhanced fighter, and Ji Chen, an ice ability user. Jian An has been reborn with memories of his past life, where he was betrayed and killed, leaving only one loyal companion behind. During a supply run, the team encounters Wen Qi, a rabbit spirit who failed her heavenly tribulation and took human form. She had been following them, hoping to repay Jian An for saving her in her previous life as a rabbit. Jian An recognizes her immediately and insists she join their group, determined not to lose her again as he did in his past life.

Wen Qi possesses a rare spatial storage ability gifted by her master, containing a fully stocked supermarket, medical supplies, and various magical pills. Her abilities also include super speed and immense physical strength, demonstrated when she effortlessly defeats a mutated vine monster using a massive scythe. The team travels to a hospital to retrieve medicine for their base, where Wen Qi stores the entire building and its zombie inhabitants into her space, shocking her companions with the scale of her power. Jian An warns her to keep her spatial abilities secret, classifying her as a speed-type user to the outside world.

On their return, the group is lured into a secluded village by a pockmarked man named Mazi, who claims the road ahead is blocked by an earthquake. The village is devoid of other people, and Wen Qi senses a strange, unpleasant smell that makes her uncomfortable. That night, Mazi reveals his true nature: he and the village leader, Chen Dao, use a mutated herb that suppresses human abilities after twenty-four hours of exposure. Only they possess antidote sachets, allowing them to remain powerful while capturing survivors. The villagers turn captured individuals into tree-men, soulless puppets bound by a secondary drug that enforces absolute obedience.

Jian An and his teammates are captured and stripped of their powers, but Wen Qi escapes after being shown kindness by female captives. She rescues Jian An and the others, using a pill from her space to neutralize Mazi’s ability suppression. It is revealed that Mazi possesses a regenerative ability combined with the immortality drug derived from a mutated ginseng, allowing him to survive fatal wounds. Jian An kills Mazi, but learns that Chen Dao possesses an immortality elixir and may still be alive.

The team tracks Chen Dao to his laboratory, where they discover he has been experimenting on a sentient ginseng creature to create the immortality drug. The ginseng confirms that consuming it grants instant stamina restoration and rapid healing, but requires a one-week cooldown period. Chen Dao had also been using test subjects to perfect the formula, creating the tree-men and the regenerative serum. Jian An confronts Chen Dao, who refuses to reveal the full formula even under threat of death. Wen Qi uses a truth pill to force Chen Dao to confess that the tree-men cannot be restored to human form, but their consciousness returns if the original drug user is killed.

With Chen Dao defeated and frozen, the team rescues the remaining captives, including Bai Zhi and her brother Bai Mu, who had been turned into tree-men. Upon Chen Dao’s death, Bai Mu regains his sanity, though he is traumatized by his sister’s suffering. Jian An decides to take the ginseng and the lab’s research with them, recognizing the strategic value of the immortality drug in the dangerous new world. The group prepares to return to their base, stronger and better supplied, while Wen Qi remains devoted to Jian An, eager to stay by his side and protect him from any future threats.
