Yao Zhen is a wealthy, hedonistic young master who finds himself exiled to a remote resort island on Feijing Island by his angry father. The punishment stems from Yao Zhen’s involvement in illegal street racing, an act of rebellion that his father views as unacceptable. Sent away under the guise of learning to manage real business, Yao Zhen spends his days in boredom, managing the hotel’s trivial operations and ignoring the complaints of stranded tourists. His only companions are a group of equally idle rich friends who cannot visit due to an approaching typhoon. The storm hits with devastating force, causing significant damage to the island and disrupting all travel. During the aftermath, while surveying the debris on the beach, Yao Zhen discovers a unconscious man washed ashore. To his shock and secret delight, he recognizes the man as Liang Jiming, a brilliant and arrogant lawyer who is also his romantic rival. Liang Jiming is the man Shen Jinghe, Yao Zhen’s former love interest, is set to marry, making him the primary obstacle to Yao Zhen’s romantic ambitions.

Yao Zhen drags the unconscious lawyer back to his suite and calls for medical help. When Liang Jiming wakes, he reveals that he has suffered severe amnesia due to a concussion. He does not remember his name, his profession, or his past. Yao Zhen sees an immediate opportunity for revenge and manipulation. Liang Jiming, though skeptical and logically sharp, has no memory to contradict Yao Zhen’s claims. He is physically vulnerable and dependent on Yao Zhen for basic needs and information. Yao Zhen reinforces his lie by purchasing matching engagement rings and having his assistant, Xiao Wei, help maintain the charade. He also hides Liang Jiming’s true identity from the hotel staff and the Coast Guard, ensuring that no one will uncover the truth. As days pass, Liang Jiming begins to accept this new reality, partly because he has no other anchor in his blank mind. He starts to rely on Yao Zhen, performing domestic tasks and reviewing legal contracts for the hotel, displaying professional competence that surprises Yao Zhen. The young master oscillates between enjoying his revenge and feeling a strange, unacknowledged guilt as he watches Liang Jiming’s quiet dignity and growing attachment.

The dynamic shifts when Yao Zhen’s friends arrive on the island. They tease Yao Zhen about his new partner, unaware of Liang Jiming’s true identity. Yao Zhen tries to maintain his facade of a carefree playboy, but tensions rise between him and Liang Jiming. Liang Jiming’s cold, judgmental attitude toward Yao Zhen’s frivolous lifestyle leads to a heated argument. In a moment of drunken anger and provocation, Yao Zhen falls into the hotel’s swimming pool. He cannot swim and begins to drown. Liang Jiming, despite his earlier disdain, leaps into the water to save him. He performs artificial respiration, saving Yao Zhen’s life. This near-death experience forces both men to confront their feelings. Yao Zhen wakes with a fever, and Liang Jiming, filled with remorse and confusion, apologizes for his past behavior. He expresses a willingness to try and make the relationship work, despite his lingering doubts. Yao Zhen is left stunned, realizing that his game may have gone too far, as Liang Jiming’s sincerity begins to blur the lines between his revenge plot and genuine emotional connection.
