Ruan Tinghe, a skilled forensic artist from the 21st century, dies after assisting police with a murder portrait and is transported to a rural village in 1970s China. Ruan Tinghe moves into the Qin family compound, gaining both medical support and a social network. Shen Yan continues his investigation into the traffickers, suspecting they are linked to his sister’s disappearance. The story concludes with Ruan Tinghe establishing a new life in Shanghai, while Shen Yan’s presence looms as he seeks to uncover the truth about the past and potentially reconnect with her and her children.
