Is there an issue with just rewriting the chapters you lost? I get losing your laptop set you back a bit, but why cant you write them again? I have seen novels that this has happened to before, and they usually get droped for a few reasons. 1. People lost interest in the story while the author was busy sorting stuff out. 2. The author lost interest in writing the novel. 3. A mixture of both with the addition of bad reviews saying brutally honest things. I tell you this because I want to see your novel gain popularity as it has great potential. If you dont start fixing the issue you are having, you may as well drop. If you dont start writing new chapters, you may as well drop. They dont need to be great quality and you could even write them on your phone, but if you dont start showing progress soon, then the things I listed above will very likely happen, and you will inevitably drop. Let me remind you, I am saying this because I want you and your novel to succeed. Good luck.
