Meng Yaya, a formidable Strength-type Esper from a post-apocalyptic world, dies detonating her crystal core to save her teammates. She awakens in the body of a three-year-old girl in 1960s China, trapped in a dilapidated house where her step-grandmother, Wang Guifen, is force-feeding her foul slop. The original host was being kept alive only to be sold as a child bride to an idiot in a neighboring village in exchange for twenty catties of cornmeal. Meng Yaya, retaining her combat instincts and a spatial dimension filled with supplies, slaps Wang Guifen with enough force to send the old woman flying. When her violent relatives, including her abusive second uncle Meng Jingui and hooligan little uncle Meng Jianjun, attack her and her weak mother Lin Wanrou, Meng Yaya displays supernatural strength. She dislocates Meng Jingui’s wrist, lifts a massive stone millstone to intimidate Meng Jianjun, and humiliates the matchmaker and the idiot buyer by striking their weak points with precise stone throws.
Realizing the Meng family will not stop until they sell her off, Meng Yaya decides to leave. She reveals to her mother that she possesses a spatial ability and produces food from her dimension, claiming it is a gift from an immortal grandfather to explain the miracles. After a meal of luncheon meat and dumpling soup, which attracts the greedy attention of her relatives, Meng Yaya ventures into the back mountain to hunt. She easily kills a wild rabbit and defeats a group of local bullies led by Li Ergou, establishing herself as a fearsome figure in the village. When her relatives attempt to steal her cooked rabbit meat, she injures Meng Jianjun with pebbles, forcing them to retreat in terror. The family then spreads rumors of adultery to drive Lin Wanrou out, but Meng Yaya counters by exposing the eldest aunt’s own affair with the village bachelor, turning the crowd against the accusers.
Meng Yaya resolves to find her father, whose photo indicates he is in the Beijing Military District. To fund the journey, she seeks wild ginseng in the mountains. There, she encounters Sun Shouzheng, a renowned but disgraced traditional Chinese medicine doctor undergoing re-education. After Sun Shouzheng is bitten by a pit viper, Meng Yaya saves him using antivenom from her spatial dimension and her own medical knowledge. She forces him into a contract as her servant in exchange for her life-saving treatment. Sun Shouzheng, impressed by her skills, agrees and helps her sell the ginseng for a substantial profit. With funds secured, Meng Yaya prepares to leave the toxic family environment. She confronts her relatives one last time, using a brick to threaten anyone who approaches her mother, asserting her dominance and declaring her intent to join the army with her father. The story follows her strategic dismantling of her abusers and her preparation to escape to Beijing, leveraging her past-life powers and new allies to secure a future for herself and her mother.
