When billionaire tycoon Philip Caldwell dies unexpectedly, his greedy and power-hungry family gathers to claim their piece of his vast fortune. But imagine their shock when his will is read, revealing that everything—his estate, his companies, his billions—has been left to his young caregiver, 23-year-old Astrid Bennett.

With her newly found unimaginable wealth Astrid becomes the target of Philip’s vengeful family, who will stop at nothing to take back what they believe is rightfully theirs. With no allies and danger lurking in the shadows, Astrid’s only hope lies in Cole Donovan, her mysterious and fiercely protective bodyguard.

Haunted by his own troubled past, Cole has sworn to keep Astrid safe, no matter the cost. But as the threats grow and duty gives way to desire, Astrid must decide if she can trust the one man willing to risk everything for her—or if her inheritance will cost her life.

wow, this book is amazing. You need to read it ASAP. Of course, you'd wonder how the author would manage with the supporting character premise...I did too. But the author's done exceptionally well, though he becomes the mc to us, he still acts with the supporting character idealogy, one which the author has used so well. I'll recommend this book to y'all. It's great.

Ngl initially I thought the mc (Samael) isn't deserving of the title villain. However that changed when and how he killed Rose. He does whatever he wanna without a care in the world, because guess what he may arguably be the strongest man besides Willburns in the world, so he doesn't need to bow down to anyone. I'm starting to like this mc y'know. A little narcissist, a little arrogant but someone who acts with brain. Keep on writing author.

Some people may enjoy reading chapters with 80-90% world and miscellaneous descriptions while only 10% is character action/dialogue. However, my patience is not at that level. The whole 50+ chapters I've read so far could have been easily shrunk to about 10. With that said, this author's writing style definitely depicts every situation well enough for your imagination to fill in a full picture. Unfortunately, that makes story progression drunk-snail slow. Chapters go on and on about side characters and information only relevant for the next 3-5 chapters. Perhaps this sort of super-detailed story telling is your thing...but I'm tired of skimming text looking for important details to avoid growing a beard while reading.

Decent low key novel. By Webnovel standards, this is as good as it gets. Good to pass time, nothing offensively bad about it and nothing particularly great about it. The whole breakthrough system is not as bad as you’d think, I feel it works well to pace the series (especially since there are going to be the mandatory timeskips every one of these novels have).Decent read, even if you don’t like it, it’d be weird if you hated it. Even if you did like it, it’d be a bit weird if you loved it. Pleasant middle ground for a chill series like this.
