After 10 years inside of "Transcendance", Lucas was betrayed by several top guilds, resulting in his own being destroyed, and for him to be killed dozens of times.
When he reached level 10, one death from fully having to start back, Lucas wakes up, and realizes that he had been transported 10 years in the past.
He had been reborn right before the launch of the game!
