James Novak wants to be a hero, but he’ll have to start by saving himself. He’s alone in a strange cave, his sister and brother are missing, and if that wasn’t bad enough, he has no idea how to get home.
The Novak children will have to find each other in a dangerous new world, then find their way back to Risanburg. The chances of that happening are slim when there’s stone giants, evil fairies, and a gargantuan cave beast out to get them.
Luckily, not everything is a monster. A special few might lend the help they need. And truth be told, even the children will have to do some helping as they traverse a treacherous landscape, escape from malevolent beasts, and persevere through pain and hunger to make it back home.
