NPC Raising a Cub in an Infinite Flow World

Tao Xiu is a botanical garden conservator living in Golden Legend Community, an unfinished housing complex in A City that mysteriously completed itself overnight. He appears human but harbors secret abilities: he can teleport through a utility room door to another dimension and manipulate space within his community. His days are peaceful and ordinary until players begin teleporting into an E-rank dungeon that has suddenly opened—the Botanical Garden Encounter. The dungeon has a seven-day time limit, and failure results in instant death for all players.

A team of players, led by Chen Ji, enters the dungeon to hunt the dungeon core. They discover Tao Xiu, who seems completely ordinary. Player 3, Lin Mei, is assigned to observe Tao Xiu and is shocked by his humanity. Meanwhile, Tao Xiu discovers his utility room door now connects to a dark, silent dimension where a monstrous entity resides. This entity, an ancient being who has been asleep for centuries, is awakened by Tao Xiu's accidental contact. The entity communicates through large, terrifying dogs that take the form of a Samoyed and other creatures.

Tao Xiu begins feeding the dogs, unaware he is offering tributes to the entity behind the door. The entity, initially disgusted by the dog food, is intrigued by Tao Xiu's kindness and devotion. When Tao Xiu cuts his finger and the creature heals the wound while leaving dark marks on his hand, Tao Xiu realizes he is not alone in possessing abilities beyond human understanding. He contacts his doctor friend Qiao Zhi'an, who draws blood for testing and finds nothing abnormal.

The entity becomes increasingly possessive and jealous. When Qiao Zhi'an visits, the entity sabotages the visit by turning cola into a weapon and making the shower spray ice-cold liquid. The entity punishes Qiao Zhi'an by teleporting him to B City, a thousand miles away, forcing him to fly back for a scheduled lunch with his father. Meanwhile, Tao Xiu receives a bag of gold left by the entity, which the police determine he legally owns through a promotional contest.

Lin Mei warns Tao Xiu that Chen Ji, a player with the ability [Solid Compression], is targeting him and will attack after work. Tao Xiu closes the botanical garden for three days and stays home. During this time, he continues feeding the entity through the door. The entity grows more confident, believing Tao Xiu's devotion means he can finally reveal himself. He opens the utility room door and steps into Tao Xiu's apartment.

Chen Ji arrives at Tao Xiu's door, desperate to kill the core before the time limit expires. The entity encounters Chen Ji and effortlessly destroys him, reducing him to a puddle of flesh before reforming him and sending him fleeing in terror. Tao Xiu wakes to the commotion and finds the entity standing in his living room. The entity speaks in a magnetic, unsettling voice, claiming Tao Xiu must be happy to see him. Tao Xiu feels a strange pull toward the entity but snaps out of it, realizing the danger.

The story establishes a complex relationship between Tao Xiu, who seeks connection with others like him, and the ancient entity, who views Tao Xiu as property and worshipper. The dungeon players represent an external threat, while the entity's possessiveness creates internal tension. Tao Xiu's desire for normalcy clashes with his supernatural circumstances, and the entity's awakening threatens to disrupt the peaceful life he has built.
