On 25 February 2024, the Indonesian Navy held a grand exercise in response to the increasing presence of the Chinese Coast Guard in North Natuna. On the day of the exercise, a giant storm suddenly appeared, causing the entire fleet to lose communication with each other. After the storm subsided, Vice Admiral Otto, captain of KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata, tried to find out their whereabouts as the entire fleet had disappeared. He contacted the entire fleet and only received responses from KRI Kapitan Patimura, KRI Kapitan Patimura, KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda, KRI Makassar, and KRI Banjarmasin.
What happened? And how did they end up in the unknown waters?
