"Are you running away from me, my sweet girl?" a voice spoke in the hallway, causing her to freeze. The corridor had dimmed, with only the wall lamps casting bright light and shadows. A figure slowly emerged from the far end, his shadow stretching ominously on the floor.
"What are you doing here, your majesty," she said, immediately bowing as she saw him approach, his steps slow yet deliberate.
"You haven't answered me, sweet," the man said with a smile that sent shivers down her spine. He heard her heart skip a beat. Standing before her, he used his index finger to lift her chin, tilting his head as he gazed into her green eyes, which reflected fear.
He took a step closer, narrowing his eyes when she stepped back, but this didn't stop him from cornering her.
"Did you think you could escape from me?" he asked, mockery evident in his tone.
"I... I..." Her words faltered under his intimidating presence. She felt his finger trace her forehead down to her jaw, then move to her neck, lingering there as her heart pounded.
"Did you think you could escape from me?" he whispered, bending towards her. His breath touched her neck, sending a jolt through her body.
"I told you, you're tied to me and me to you."
