A story about a biography of a famous intersex male opera singer, Xia Yan Ting.
Story based on his son, Xia Wei Ting aka Takeshita. Yan ting was his mum and his dad Takeshita Kennji.
2 September 1995, Nanjing.
Wei Ting went back to China, Nanjing to bring back his dad ashes to bury together with his wife, Xia Yan Ting.
Wei Ting also go to china to promote his novel, “My mum was a top spy”.
Kennji was a Japanese General and business man back in 1930s and frequently travel to and fro China for businesses.
1934, he met Yan Ting at the courtesan house, Nanjing Hua Ting and saw a virgin male courtesan who was sold to Hua Ting. He fell in love with him at first sight, not knowing that he was a man and an intersex person.
On Yan Ting first night, he was bought by Kennji to spend a night with him.
That night they slept together not knowing that Yan Ting was a spy for China government.
Love and hatred blossom between Yan Ting and Kennji.
