My Birth Mother Reborn: I Lead My Cannon-Fodder Children to Turn the Tables

Shu Shu, a twenty-four-year-old mother, is stabbed to death while returning from dropping off her son at kindergarten. As she dies, she realizes her life was merely a plot device in a romance novel, where she served as the deceased "white moonlight" whose children were destined to be tragic foils to the female lead's family. Her son, Shu Lingchen, was destined to become a delinquent who lost a love triangle and ended up in prison, while her daughter was to become an overweight outcast. Before her consciousness fades, Shu Shu curses the absurdity of her fate. Heaven seemingly hears her, and she awakens reborn in the body of an eighteen-year-old girl, thirteen years in the past, just as her son is seventeen.

Upon rebirth, Shu Shu finds herself at the entrance of An City No. 3 Middle School, witnessing her son, Shu Lingchen, aggressively confessing his love to a girl named Chu Lian. Shu Lingchen appears as a flashy delinquent with a colorful hairstyle, surrounded by lackeys, while Chu Lian plays the role of a timid victim. A noble class monitor, Shi Jin, intervenes to save Chu Lian, establishing the classic love triangle dynamic Shu Shu recognized from the novel. Shu Shu intervenes, rescuing her son from the awkward situation and revealing her identity as his mother. Although Shu Lingchen is initially skeptical due to her youthful appearance, he confirms her identity through a secret memory about a kindergarten drawing, leading to an emotional reunion.

Shu Shu quickly discovers that her son has been manipulated by Chu Lian and her mother, who have been living in Shu Shu’s luxury apartment in Yujing Garden for years. They convinced Shu Lingchen, who was raised by a nanny after his mother’s death, that they were temporary guests fleeing debt collectors. In reality, they have stolen his home and his wealth, with Chu Lian posing as the owner while publicly humiliating Shu Lingchen as a poor suitor. Shu Shu, now possessing the memories and resources of her former wealthy self, decides to reclaim her property and save her son from his foolish devotion.

Shu Shu enrolls in the same school as her son, becoming his desk mate to monitor his behavior and correct his academic neglect. She also purchases the penthouse directly below the occupied apartment, hiring designers to renovate it while preparing to evict the squatters. The conflict escalates when Chu Lian invites classmates to tour her "home," boasting about her wealth. Shu Shu joins the group, subtly exposing the discrepancies in Chu Lian’s knowledge of the house, such as the locked cabinets and fingerprint-secured wine cellar. When property management arrives to collect overdue fees, Chu Lian is unable to pay, revealing her financial fraud.

The climax occurs when Shu Shu, posing as the new owner, produces the legitimate property deeds and calls the police. Security teams remove Chu Lian and her mother from the apartment, confiscating their belongings and ejecting them from the building. Chu Lian’s false persona collapses in front of her peers, and she is blacklisted from the residential community. Shu Shu successfully reclaims her home, selling the apartment to recoup losses and secure her son’s future. With her son’s infatuation broken and his mother present to guide him, Shu Shu begins to alter the predetermined tragic fate, aiming to steer her children away from the destructive paths outlined in the novel.
