Fan Wenya is a thirty-year-old gynecologist who recently finalized her divorce from Ming Zhifei, a former surgeon whose career was destroyed after a medical accident led to a lawsuit and physical assault. The marriage, arranged by their parents, had been cold and distant, lacking intimacy and children.
