Military Marriage in the 1980s: The Commander Falls in Love With His Wife More Every Day

Xu Zhizhi transmigrates into a male-oriented historical novel set in 1983, inhabiting the body of a beautiful but foolish woman who is the male protagonist Li Wenzhu’s divorced and deceased "white moonlight." In the original plot, this woman is manipulated by her stepmother, Liang Fenglan, into aborting her unborn child so she can marry an abusive accountant. After the abortion, she is beaten to death by her husband, while Li Wenzhu, presumed dead, eventually marries the novel’s female protagonist, Zhou Tian. Upon waking, Xu Zhizhi realizes she is moments away from being forced to drink abortion medicine. Instead of complying, she reverses the situation by pouring the poison down Liang Fenglan’s throat, declaring her intention to keep the baby and reject the arranged marriage.

Her stepmother and half-brother, Liang An, attempt to physically assault her, but Xu Zhizhi, who was raised with martial arts by her late mother, easily subdues them. Believing his wife has abandoned him and aborted their child, Li Wenzhu decides to return to camp and file for divorce. Unaware of the deception, he prepares to cut ties with her. Xu Zhizhi, traveling north, disguises herself as an elderly woman to avoid attention. On the train, she is mistaken for a human trafficker by a vigilant mother and her daughter. The situation escalates until she is handcuffed and handed over to local police upon arrival.

At the station, Xu Zhizhi encounters Gu Xiangbei, Li Wenzhu’s comrade, who recognizes her letter of introduction. Li Wenzhu arrives shortly after, expecting to see a stranger or a widow, but is stunned to find his wife alive and pregnant. Xu Zhizhi removes her disguise, revealing her true appearance. Li Wenzhu, overwhelmed by guilt and relief, embraces her, believing her devotion despite his earlier doubts. Xu Zhizhi, recognizing the opportunity to secure her future with the rising military officer, plays the role of a devoted wife. She leaves the scammers and abusers behind, heading north to start a new life with her husband and unborn child, while the original female protagonist, Zhou Tian, also transmigrates into the story, setting the stage for future conflicts.
