Gu Jianing dies in a fire orchestrated by the man she loved, Wen Zhuqing, after he exploits her family and discards her for a wealthy wife. In her final moments, she witnesses Sheng Zexi, a military officer she had previously misunderstood, rushing into the flames to save her, sustaining fatal injuries himself. Upon dying, she is bound to a Childbearing System that transports her soul back to the moment she attempted suicide by jumping into a freezing river. In her past life, this act was driven by her obsessive love for Wen Zhuqing, resulting in infertility and the gradual destruction of her family. Reborn with full knowledge of the tragedy that awaits, Gu Jianing resolves to change her fate, protect her family, and seek redemption for her past negligence.

Upon waking, Gu Jianing finds a matchmaker from Sheng Zexi waiting outside. In her previous timeline, the matchmaker left after hearing rumors of Gu Jianing’s devotion to Wen Zhuqing, causing Sheng Zexi to depart heartbroken. This time, Gu Jianing immediately agrees to the marriage proposal, shocking her family and the onlookers. Her eldest brother, Gu Yunting, who had previously compromised and given up his coveted steel factory job for Wen Zhuqing due to Gu Jianing’s demands, is spared this regret. Gu Jianing firmly refuses to ask for the job, preserving her brother’s career and preventing the subsequent marital strife that plagued her first life. The Gu family, deeply concerned for her physical and mental state, provides tender care, including chicken soup and medical attention, reinforcing the familial bonds Gu Jianing now cherishes.

Sheng Zexi, unaware of her rebirth, remains determined to win her hand despite the village gossip. He learns of her period and secretly climbs through her window to deliver painkillers and warm food, displaying a level of attentiveness Gu Jianing never recognized before. His blunt and sharp-tongued nature masks a deep, enduring affection. When Gu Jianing tearfully asks why he is so kind to her, he retorts with sarcasm about her foolishness for loving Wen Zhuqing, yet his actions betray his genuine care. Gu Jianing, having severed her emotional ties to Wen Zhuqing, accepts Sheng Zexi’s feelings and agrees to marry him, marking a decisive turning point in their relationship.

The following day, Sheng Zexi visits the Gu family to formalize the engagement. He honestly discloses his medical history, revealing that a war injury left him with only a one percent chance of fathering children. While the Gu family hesitates, Gu Jianing, backed by the System’s promise of a cure, confidently agrees to the marriage. She reveals her intention to use her nursing skills to treat Sheng Zexi and her sister-in-law, Yang Manman, who has suffered from infertility for three years. This decision aligns with her System’s novice task: to bind a patient and learn fertility treatments in exchange for a pill that will restore her own fertility and Sheng Zexi’s chances of conception.

Gu Jianing successfully binds Yang Manman as her first patient in the Divine Doctor Space. Through accelerated learning, she masters the treatment for uterine coldness, a condition affecting Yang Manman. She performs acupuncture and prescribes medicinal baths, bringing hope to the Gu family. Meanwhile, Wen Zhuqing, unaware that Gu Jianing has moved on, continues to manipulate the female educated youths, including Zhao Weihong and Li Juan, who spread malicious rumors about her. Zhao Weihong confronts Gu Jianing, but Gu Jianing calmly dismantles the accusations with logic and evidence, exposing the educated youths’ interference and turning public opinion in her favor.

As the wedding approaches, the Gu family prepares gifts and savings for Gu Jianing’s move to the northwestern military region. Sheng Zexi submits his marriage report and communicates with his maternal grandparents, who express joy at his impending marriage. The narrative establishes a new trajectory where Gu Jianing, empowered by her system and supported by her reformed family dynamics, prepares to build a life with Sheng Zexi while systematically dismantling the schemes of Wen Zhuqing and his accomplices.

To be honest, when I first read the name, I though it would be regular novel with apocalyptic theme, but your first chapter surprised. I really like this novel, and I'll continue to read it! Keep it up!

The mc makes many stupid and illogical decisions, especially later on when he decides to treat slaves better than he treats normal people. Also gives 50% of his business where he did all the work to a slave, again, completely illogical decision.(ch.208)

there are lots of question that come in my mind when i read the introduction and the 11 chapters of the novel, for example- who are those people who started this project of two life, are there still any humans left outside the game world, and many more quetsions. The novel looks promising but then again, it's only 11 chapters at most of this review so I can't really judge the book yet,The book has potential and I would love to read the answers of my questions in future updates.
