Gu Nian, a modern woman, is selected by a Book Transmigration Bureau to inhabit the body of a seventeen-year-old girl with the same name. The original owner died after being coerced by her abusive brother, Gu Yan, and sister-in-law, Wang Zhaodi, into surrendering her textile factory job to their niece and being sent to the countryside in her place. Upon waking, Gu Nian is bonded to a system that provides storage spaces, skills, and missions. She immediately begins her counterattack by searching the family home, where she discovers a hidden room containing gold, cash, and secret correspondence revealing that her brother and sister-in-law are foreign spies responsible for their parents unjust exile. She reports them to the local committee, securing their arrest, and uses the system to sign her niece up for relocation to the Northwest in her stead. She also sells the family house and transfers her job to a sympathetic village official before departing for the Northeast Province.

Gu Nian arrives at Dashan Village alongside other educated youths, including He Yirou, the original female lead of the book. He Yirou has also been reborn and possesses a card capable of stealing systems, making her a direct threat to Gu Nian. While He Yirou attempts to manipulate the male lead, Ji Yunchen, and frame Gu Nian for various misdeeds, Gu Nian focuses on completing her missions. She discovers her original parents are alive and living in poverty in a nearby village, Niupeng. Using her system’s farm and spirit spring spaces, she accumulates wealth, food, and valuable items like ginseng and lingzhi, secretly supporting her parents and the elderly professors living with them. She navigates village politics with competence, earning the respect of villagers like Aunt Guihua and Aunt Xiangxiu while exposing the corrupt dealings of others.

As winter approaches, the conflicts among the educated youths escalate. He Yirou schemes to ruin Shen Yuling, leading to Shen Yuling’s forced marriage to Erlai, a local man with a poor reputation. Meanwhile, Sun Dantong is arrested as an accomplice to the spy Liu Shengjun, and Ye Qing abandons his partner Jia Xueli to marry a wealthy widow who can secure him a city job. Gu Nian uncovers Liu Shengjun’s hidden contraband and turns it over to the authorities, completing another mission. She also warns Jiang Susu about the abusive Xu Xing, who is subsequently arrested for murder. Throughout these events, Gu Nian maintains a close friendship with Song Youyou and Fang Siyu, who eventually decide to marry.

The story reaches a turning point when Jiang Huaijing, the village chief’s son and a military officer, returns from service and proposes to Gu Nian. Despite initial hesitation, she accepts, and they plan to marry before he deploys. He Yirou, desperate to steal Gu Nian’s system before she leaves, hires a witch to cast a spell, but Gu Nian’s system protects her. In a final act of revenge, He Yirou exposes Shen Yuling’s affair with Ji Yunchen, causing a public scandal that ruins both their reputations. Ji Yunchen attempts to flee with his city fiancée, Zhou Jingjing, but is left stranded after the affair is revealed. Gu Nian marries Jiang Huaijing, receives her marriage certificate, and prepares to leave the countryside with him, having successfully secured her future and protected her family from the schemes of her enemies.

Now this is what i call a Good Novel.First lets talk about  about the Main Character he is Smart and Decisive that's already a plus right there and another one is he has his priorities straight goddamn it, im sick and tired of mc's getting distracted every little thing that shows up in front of them.now for the world itself admittedly i don't know much because i just binged the 60 chapters but so far the side characters are unraveling the the power system and factions quite naturally? or at least i think they by informing the MC and the viewer at the same time so take that as you will.i guess the only minor plot hole at least to me that could happen later on to the story would the reaction of the game developers to the MC's quick rise to power, As with most novels of this type or at least those that i have read is that they will either brush it off or just ignore it all together but then again how can you realistically explain how a dev group could make an a game with abnormally advance AI that could react to whatever the player is doing in their own way so yeah. Conclusion = all in all a solid novel to waste some time and enjoy and once you get hooked on it make a 180 turn as you see this site pick some shitty novel over the other less shitty novels. And that's about it Stay safe you pieces of shit
