Tian An’an is a twenty-one-year-old recent graduate from a modest working-class family in southern China. She has just begun her career as an assistant to a famous diva named Jiang Wei. Seeking to prove herself, An’an travels to Las Vegas with her boss. The city, known for its neon-lit decadence and criminal underworld, becomes the setting for a nightmare when the two women are kidnapped by local gangsters. The primary target is Jiang Wei, but An’an is caught in the crossfire. During the captivity, An’an manages to escape from her holding cell while the kidnappers are focused on the diva. She flees into the dangerous black district of Las Vegas, desperate to reach a police station or a phone booth to rescue her employer.

While navigating the hostile streets, An’an witnesses a violent encounter between a Portuguese woman and a man, highlighting the lawless nature of the area. She is soon hunted by a group of aggressive men who corner her in a dead-end alley. The attackers, driven by lust and cruelty, threaten to assault her. An’an fights back with desperate strength, managing to injure one of her pursuers before being captured again. Just as her situation seems hopeless, a tall, impeccably dressed man named Feng Xiao appears. He is accompanied by Asian assistants and exudes an aura of cold authority. Initially, Feng Xiao seems indifferent, stepping over An’an’s body as if she were an obstacle. However, when she grabs his pant leg and pleads for help, invoking their shared nationality, he pauses. After a brief, calculating assessment, he orders his men to take her, effectively rescuing her from the alley but delivering her into his own custody.

Feng Xiao is a man of immense power and wealth, characterized by his cold demeanor and gold-rimmed glasses. He takes An’an to a luxury hotel on the forty-ninth floor. Despite her initial gratitude, she quickly realizes that her savior is far more terrifying than the men she escaped. Feng Xiao warns her that escape is futile and that he has a bad temper. He forces her into a bathtub and has her dressed by two blonde attendants before leading her to his suite. Inside the dark room, Feng Xiao lights a cigar and observes her with predatory interest. He instructs her to apply red lipstick, transforming her appearance. The atmosphere is charged with tension as he demands she kiss him. An’an, terrified but compliant to survive, hesitates before he physically lifts her and forces the kiss, displaying a mix of aggression and control.

The encounter escalates in Feng Xiao’s bedroom, where he reveals a large tattoo and a scar on his back. He pins An’an down, tearing her clothes and asserting dominance. Throughout the ordeal, An’an struggles with fear and confusion, unable to comprehend the motives of this enigmatic man. Feng Xiao’s actions are calculated and cruel, yet he occasionally shows moments of strange restraint, such as when he asks if she regrets seeking his help. He offers her a grim choice: submit to his will or be returned to the dangers of the street. An’an chooses survival, suppressing her fear and shame. The chapter ends with Feng Xiao continuing his assault, leaving An’an in a state of shock and helplessness. The narrative establishes a power dynamic where An’an is entirely at the mercy of Feng Xiao, whose true identity and intentions remain shrouded in mystery.
