Howard took the beatings willingly, not wanting his younger brother to suffer the same complex family life that he had, but he would sometimes fail when he finished his job late and came back home to find his brother, head hanging, tears streaming down his cheeks, waiting to complain to his older brother of the unfair treatment of his father towards him. Howard would patiently listen.

2 certain paragraphs... were ? but the transition of situations in the story is very much intriguing.. the mystery I liked the most and I am excited to read the next chapter.??

I see a lot of authors promise how many words each chapter is gonna have, and I honestly think that's a bad idea. It just becomes a burden after enough time. don't write because you remixed us too, wrote because you want to.
