Meng Yunshu, a young man from the modern era, dies unexpectedly and is reborn into the body of a sickly boy named Shu Ger in ancient times. The original host suffered a tragic life, having been framed for theft by his father's employer, beaten to near death, and eventually sold by his cruel uncle to a human trafficker. After dying of a high fever on the way to the market, Meng Yunshu awakens in the trafficker's care, only to be purchased by Yu Jinhuai, a scarred veteran who seeks a husband to care for his young nephew, Yu Zhining. Yu Jinhuai, haunted by the memory of a tortured comrade who died in his arms, buys Meng Yunshu out of sympathy and a desire for companionship, bringing him to their humble home in Cangnan Village.

Upon arriving at the Yu household, Meng Yunshu finds a sparse but clean environment. Yu Jinhuai treats him with a cautious kindness, providing medicine and warm bedding while maintaining a respectful distance. Meng Yunshu discovers that he possesses a supernatural ability linked to a "Plane Store" system. This space allows him to purchase goods from modern times and trade with inhabitants of other dimensions, such as a post-apocalyptic world. The store's operation is tied to his health and lifespan; he must earn reputation points to survive, and the key to unlocking the store's full potential is hidden within a family heirloom. The bracelet Yu Jinhuai gives him, a gift from his late father, serves as this key, triggering the system's activation and revealing the store's existence to both men.

As Meng Yunshu adjusts to his new life, he and Yu Jinhuai grow closer. Meng Yunshu uses his modern knowledge and store resources to improve their daily existence, cooking meals like instant noodles and milk that delight the young Yu Zhining. He also begins cultivating crops in the store's parallel space, accelerating their growth to generate income. Meanwhile, external conflicts arise when Yu Jinhuai's disgraced uncle, Old Third Yu, attempts to abduct and sell Yu Jinhuai's younger cousin, Yu Jinlan. Yu Jinhuai violently repels the attackers and sends the uncle to the authorities, securing his family's safety but drawing the attention of the village.

The narrative shifts as Meng Yunshu establishes trade with a survivor from the end of the world named Lu Renjia. He sells essential supplies like water, food, and baby products, accumulating significant wealth that he converts into silver for their real-world use. This economic boost allows him to care for the household and prepare for future challenges. However, the dual life brings tension; Meng Yunshu occasionally disappears into the store, causing Yu Jinhuai momentary panic, though he ultimately accepts these anomalies as part of his husband's mysterious nature. The story concludes with the two men solidifying their bond, navigating the complexities of their blended family, and preparing for the next phase of Meng Yunshu's journey as he balances his role as a store owner with his duties as a husband and father figure in ancient times.
