Lilia is a twenty-two-year-old woman from the Republic of Bartochia, a lawless nation where survival depends on strength and cunning. Orphaned and raised in a chaotic environment, she possesses a Nen ability called Inheritance with Tears, which allows her to inherit the assets and abilities of any man she marries, provided he dies naturally while she is present and legally his wife. Having already married and inherited from six wealthy men in her home world, she finds herself forcibly transported to Japan, a peaceful country where killing is illegal and her powers are significantly restricted. Stripped of her fortune and status, Lilia arrives in Nagano as a victim of human trafficking, rescued by the police. Lilia survives both attempts unscathed, interpreting the assassination attempts as a sign that her target is aware of her presence and considers her a worthy adversary. She views this as a positive omen, believing that a husband who fights to eliminate her is one with significant power and resources. Meanwhile, Morofushi Koumei, aware of the dangers Lilia faces, warns her to remain cautious, but she remains unfazed, confident in her ability to navigate the new world. The story follows Lilia as she prepares to infiltrate the Karasuma family, using her charm and legal knowledge to marry the reclusive patriarch and claim his vast inheritance, all while the police struggle to protect her from the very dangers she seeks to exploit.
