Wen Qiansu is a young woman from a wealthy family who suffers from emotional betrayal and familial neglect. Her fiancé, Lu Xiaoting, is discovered checking into a hotel with her stepsister, Wen Sisi, leading to a public scandal. Devastated and subsequently kicked out of her home by her father, Wen Biesheng, she faints in a rainstorm and is rescued by Huo Zhanxing, the reclusive and rumored-to-be-mad head of the powerful Huo family. Huo Zhanxing, who harbors deep, obsessive feelings for Wen Qiansu stemming from a past life, takes her into his residence under the guise of kindness.
