The novel is a decent read, being short and relatively free from heavy angst. It begins with a typical business marriage setup. In the first half, the narrative convincingly portrays the couple as having married purely for business reasons, with no effort to get to know each other or form an emotional bond.
**ML**
ML starts off as a classic cold-hearted man with a tragic and dark past. His sole focus in life is achieving success and wealth. Initially, he harbors no affection for FL and views their marriage merely as a means to gain control over her shares and company. However, as the story progresses, his attitude toward FL subtly changes, and he gradually falls in love with her.
**FL**
FL is another typical beautiful female lead with a problematic stepmother and a half-sister. She agrees to ML’s proposal to save her father’s company and to act as a guardian for her and her father. For much of the novel, she does not develop deep romantic feelings for ML. Instead, her respect, trust, and admiration for him form the foundation of her eventual reciprocation of his love.
**Romance:** One of the standout aspects of this novel is its focus on the slow-burning romance between the main characters. The development of their relationship is described as "not vigorous, but a long stream," reflecting a gradual and natural progression of feelings.
**Other Characters:** The supporting cast receives limited attention, serving primarily to support the development of the main characters' relationship. There are no over-the-top villains or rivals trying to sabotage the leads. Some characters even disappear after brief appearances. The only downside is that the intimate scenes are not as detailed as one might hope, though there is one notable exception that still falls short of expectations.
**:** It’s a cute, short novel that I wouldn’t hesitate to re-read if the translations were improved. No offense to the current translator.
