A Shang was a half-demon, born of a human scholar and a fox demon, who spent her life despised by both clans. She fell in love with Xie Hengyu, a peerless sword cultivator and disciple of the Immortal Sect, and through a series of manipulations by a third party, she was forced to spend a night with him, planting a fox clan love curse that bound them together. Despite her devotion, Xie Hengyu remained cold and distant, harboring love for his childhood sweetheart, Shen Yueqing. A Shang was falsely accused of colluding with the Demonic Clan and stealing the Extreme Heaven Stone. At the Immortal Sect Execution Platform, she was subjected to fifteen bolts of Heavenly Lightning and died, with Xie Hengyu never appearing to see her. After death, she wandered the Yellow Springs for an indeterminate period before her soul was reborn, returning to the moment shortly after her marriage to Xie Hengyu.

Upon rebirth, A Shang retained her memories and resolved to sever her emotional ties with Xie Hengyu. She discovered that the love curse could be broken, a method Xie Hengyu had used in her previous life to leave her. Determined to live for herself, she rejected his cold indifference and threw away the medicine he provided, signaling her detachment. Unlike her previous life, where she had neglected her cultivation for love, A Shang now focused entirely on her own growth. She registered for the sect’s trials and sought to prove that half-demons could also ascend to immortality. Her change in demeanor confused those around her, particularly Xie Hengyu, who noticed her lack of the usual submissive affection and growing independence.

During a herb-gathering mission in the Ten Thousand Spirit Valley, A Shang was betrayed by a fellow disciple, He Zong, who intended to use her as a cultivation cauldron along with two accomplices. When they attempted to assault her, A Shang fought back, killing one of them with her blade, Wushuang. The other two escaped but were later found by Xie Hengyu, who sensed A Shang’s blood on them. A Shang fell from a cliff during the encounter and landed in a sealed abyss at the bottom. There, she met a young boy named A Wu, who appeared innocent but was actually the ancient ferocious beast Wu Zhu, imprisoned for tens of thousands of years. A Shang saw through his disguise when he ate pork ribs with bones, exposing his non-human nature.

Wu Zhu revealed himself as a massive demon beast and demanded A Shang break his seal in exchange for his freedom. Recognizing him as the chaotic entity from ancient texts, A Shang refused initially but eventually agreed on the condition that he become her contracted spirit. Wu Zhu agreed, offering his demon core to bind himself to her service. Upon breaking the seal, Wu Zhu carried A Shang out of the abyss, having consumed food along the way. They emerged to find Xie Hengyu waiting nearby. Wu Zhu, sensing Xie Hengyu’s powerful aura, expressed a desire to eat him, but A Shang restrained him. Xie Hengyu, displaying intense hostility toward demons, attempted to kill Wu Zhu, forcing A Shang to intervene and protect her new contracted spirit.

A Shang was brought before the sect elders for the death of Zhong Hua. The Fifth Elder demanded her immediate punishment, citing her half-demon heritage and the murder of a fellow disciple. However, A Shang publicly exposed He Zong and Lu Si for their plot to use disciples as cultivation cauldrons. The truth of their crimes, which had led to the death of another disciple in her previous life, came to light. The elders sentenced He Zong, Lu Si, and the deceased Zhong Hua to have their spiritual roots destroyed and be expelled, acknowledging A Shang’s self-defense. Despite this, A Shang remained an outcast, her status as a half-demon still viewed with suspicion by the sect leadership. She continued to cultivate, now accompanied by Wu Zhu, while maintaining a distant and indifferent relationship with Xie Hengyu, who watched her with growing curiosity and unresolved tension.

I believe it’s 10/10. It’s a masterpiece that you have to read. The first around 50 chapters are a little slow, but it just takes time for world building and to develop a care for the characters. After that the story develops in an outstanding manner, I can’t get into detail without using spoilers. It’s worth a try and I only regret that I finished the novel because I can’t read anymore of it.

quite an intriguing system novel which is quite unique. The world-building is also interesting because the world is built by the mc himself which makes it very interesting to read. The pacing is well done and the humor is also not dry like other system novels. Best of luck to the author

So starting off, this is an amazing novel, one of the best I have read on here. The plot is great, I like the direction it is going and it has alot of potential and room for growth. The author listens to his readers but doesn't just accept everything we tell him to do or change, he first weights the pros & cons it will have on the story and then sees if it fesible to add in his story(also puts his own spin on the idea to make it unique). He is also growing(tremendously) as a new author and has made less and less grammar mistakes since he started writing. The MC is very likeable and has very deep character development (he's dumb at times, but he is still a kid). The background and setting of the story is very nice and in my opinion is a unique spin on novels with similar fantasy setting. If you like novels with: Weak to strong MC, Beast taming, System(Game elements), And Magic, this is the novel for you. Should be Top 10 in original works in my opinion, at least Top 20 just needs more chapters
