I mean I think it’s more that he isn’t naive enough to just act like they are strong enough to beat any opponent as they are. He also doesn’t want to coddle them or get them to think that no matter what luffy will be there to protect them. I mean there will always be the chance he will be held up and not able to make it in time and if they aren’t strong enough they will die. I have a feeling he lost someone early on who relied on him and now keeps people at a distance and ensures they are strong enough to stand on their own before really letting them in. Sort of how he isn’t very cold to Ace as Ace is very strong.  That all said, yea it wouldn’t hurt for him to chill out a bit it’s getting to the point I feel like I am reading a story about Saskue from naruto instead of luffy. This luffy is just a bit too broody and dark like a metaphorical thunderstorm in living flesh.

Halfway to Yugyeom's room he slowly opened his eyes.. he smelt something rosy... his vision was a bit blurry so he saw Dae's red cheecks right in front of his nose... he was leaned on her and she dragged them to the room like a turtle.

Good so far just nothing like it and very unique. No faults in the writing or grammer and has a nice storyline so far. Keep up the good work!

This book is fun to read , I mean it's enjoyable if you like something to fresh your mood and read something casual and yet good with writing , and world building I think this will be a solid build forward , as it's only some 80 chapters , do your work continuously author!.
