Grandson of the Holy Emperor is a Necromancer - Reviews

This novel is pretty damn good. It's giving me a lot of Trash of the Count's family vibes but I like this one more. The MC reincarnates in the body of a total trash, who is a prince of the nation they are in and was exiled into a village for trying to rape the archbishop granddaughter.

Now, I know it looks like it but it isn't a kingdom building novel(at least not until now).Characters are pretty likable, good comedy and interesting action scenes. The only complaint I have is that the trial reading ended in a big cliffhanger and this novel doesn't seem to have much chance, because the other necromancer novel is doing way better. The thought of having to wait months to read this again saddens me a lot.

(The novel itself is good and interesting, so my review here is false story wise. It deserved 4.7) But the way it is presented and translated here in Webnovel is not good in anyway, so I am giving it 1 star. Originally it is supposed to be a novel the same length as other Korean novels, around 200 chapters, already completely written. But the author, or the translator for Webnovel is scum, so they cut it up into more parts to earn more money. Now around 39 to 40 chapters are cut into 60 chapters. That means the whole story is dragged out into around 300 - 350 chapters. It is such a scummy move that its just disgusting. Gone are the good days when you can novel chapters in their entirety. Now you can only read 50% or 60% of the original chapters, so go thank the perpetrator responsible for this "blessing"

This Korean novel is really good so far and has a fairly likeable mc. The mc is a bit thuggish at times but not overly obsessed with killing everybody who looks at him funny unlike xianxia protagonists. The mc gets reincarnated with a necromancer class and which mixes interestingly with the body's inherent divine power. There is action, some comedy, and (so far) a solid plot. Definitely give it a try and see how you like it.

So far in my opinion,
chapter 1-20 is pretty much garbage, while at the same time it is not the ultra wish-fulfillment side of the usual Chinese novels, it is the wish-fulfillment side of the be good and do good faction.

In other words a whole 180-degree turn from the worst.

The author deliberately mentions things he tries to avoid and things he would like to do and the result? Just get dragged around by some random people he despises. No logic in there and simply be there in order to look good and for the plot to advance. Worst thing is that the author goes out of his way to make the protagonist say one thing to the audience while at the same time EXACTLY advancing and forcing the plot in a direction that is completely the opposite of the things that the protagonist should do according to its characterization.

Chapter 20-30 is pretty okay, still cliche, and acceptable in my mind. It promises what it delivers, stops going out of its way to make the protagonist a useless piece of shit. Albeit not the best character, it doesn't follow the usual bullshit so far.

Bullshit from Chapter 1-20:
4-5 times saying that one should not do that, it is dangerous and the protagonist knows that this is dumb stuff. Proceeds to do that exact thing.

Chapter 30 onwards: Pretty decent. Still a little bit of cliche but with better character introduction, a general storyline that makes sense and actually makes me think this might be worth reading. Heck, the Chapter 30 onwards make it seem like the first 20 were deliberately written so badly so that people avoid this book.

Advice:
Skip the first 20 Chapters, it is a lot as this book only has 60 chapters so far but the first arcs are absolute garbage.
It becomes almost a whole different book past these chapters.

Had an enjoyable time reading this novel but the remaining 20+ chapters are stuck behind paywall so you will never find out the ending unless you pay for it.

I can consider paying money to unlock chapters but not for limited time access like privileged. Dropping it this now.

This is just disgusting.
The novel was the only one available to vote for for a whole week and the night before the election the other books were revealed.
Most readers already know the system is rigged as we only get to vote on what they want to put out, and with almost a 100% any book that is released to be voted on will make it because 1 vote a day gives rewards.
Besides all that they left this novel (which is decent but by no means the best in the current selection) on for a week with no competition.

I wasn't sure what this book would be like when I started at 7a Friday morning...but I was pleasantly surprised!  I don't usually like 1st person (I think it's an easy out, and half the time, the author loses the thread of the story midway), but this is polished and hilarious!  Our hapless MC has transmigrated into the body of a disgraced, HOLY prince whose past actions were anything (still, he was <15 when doing all that, so you got to wonder about his keepers), and now has banished to be a grave keeper in the sticks.  Have we also mentioned that he's a necromancer...  Currently halfway through the 60 available chapters, and so far, it's a blast.  Hope it breaks the horror curse!  (c'mon people! It's nearly Halloween so vote for this!!)

Very fun story, but the book has bren done many months now and its still trying to scam privilage purchase to be able tinfinish the story. Very sad but As Much as i Want to know the ending I am not wiling ti oay privilege to finish the book

It's bad. Not worth it. I stopped reading after chapter 100.
