Author: JU Hyeon
__________
I became the wife of a man who already had a lover. Well then, I suppose it’s up to me to protect his chastity?

“You can sleep on the floor,” I said firmly.

“What?” His wide eyes betrayed his disbelief—and reluctance.

The floor was hard, after all. But if that was what it took…

“I’ll just hold your hand and sleep. You trust me, right?” I offered, softening slightly.

But how did the bed end up breaking on my very first night as his wife?

Aristine , a princess kept out of sight by the Emperor,
was in truth the bearer of the [Monarch’s Sight] —a gift that allowed her to see the past, present, and future.

She was sacrificed in a political marriage, wedded off to a fearsome barbarian rumored to be more beast than man.
“The most precious things should naturally belong to my bride.”

Yet, contrary to her expectations, her husband wasn’t monstrous at all—he seemed disturbingly… normal.

Except for one thing: he belonged to another woman.

‘Fine,’ she thought. ‘If this is how it’s going to be, I’ll focus on myself.’

And so, Aristine set her sights on amassing wealth. Why not turn the goldfields into her personal playground?

Can Aristine carve out a life of freedom atop mountains of gold?
Or will she find herself playing a far deadlier game—one where she might just kill two birds with one stone?

This review is at 353 chapters so I'm fairly confident that I have a thorough understanding of what to expect from this story, the author, and the translator. First and foremost, this is an absolutely excellent story. I personally think that it is even better than the Harry Potter book series. I'd even go as far as to say that I like RTW most out of the 17 books I am currently reading and in all honesty it is one of the best stories I have ever read, and I'm fairly certain that the number of books I have read have most definitely exceeded the 100 books mark. The pacing of the story is excellent, the power progression is logical and unique, the main character is not the "dude" type and is actually an intellectual, no one in the book cares about illogical or stupid things like face, and overall the world just feels extremely real. There are almost no grammatical mistakes whatsoever and overall the chapters have been releasing at a steady and fast pace. Overall there is simply no way for me to give this story anything but a 5 star on all categories! Great job to the author and the translators!! :)

Is it just me or Shi Hao’s innocent trait changing to shameless one happened too fast? I was reading it and i loved how the little guy, even though he lost his supreme bone and everything he deserves, He still manged to retain his pure heart, forgiving attitude and innocent thinking thats why the Deity Tree liked him but then after a few chapters he suddenly turned into a shameless, lustful and revenge-seeking devilish brat. I was really surprised when it happened, i thought i skipped some chapters or something.Shi hao didnt harass the first batch of girls that came into the story Unlike the latter ones. In fact he was portrayed as a pure and innocent little guy and when girls come they adore him as a cute and innocent child but then after travelling,he somehow changed and every girl he sees gets harassed verbally. You know the fatty(boobs and butt) thingy. Like he wants to bring a girl to his village and raise her to be a fatty so that he can have his favorite milk and have a baby.i dont see the reason how he became like that. Is it puberty? I mean he didnt encounter a seducing woman or something to trigger that change right?I loved the innocent shi hao and shameless shi hao im not against it or something, in fact i love it but at least give a reason or event that justifies his traits turning into a different one.Anyway its a good story!! ❤️ If you love OP shotas then you gotta read this!!

This goes hard, I mean really hard…  I’m still in the beginning of the series. But the character really is unruly to the extreme. But in general. Writing are quite good and the story. Can be interesting.
