Nan Jin, a successful businesswoman in her previous life, dies and transmigrates into the body of Nan Zhu, a pregnant woman in 1979 China. Nan Zhu is imprisoned in a detention center where she is abused by fellow inmates under the orders of her husband, Gu Shaoxuan, and his mother, Yuan Limei. She also discovers that someone is searching for a half-piece of jade pendant that Nan Zhu possessed, hinting at a deeper mystery regarding her new identity.

As Nan Jin prepares to leave the hospital, she retrieves the jade pendant from a hidden spot in her room. Liang Yurou and Gu Qingya confront her, with Gu Qingya attempting to assault her again. Nan Jin evades the attack, and the tension escalates as the family’s true colors are revealed. Yuan Zheng’s intervention not only secures justice for Nan Jin but also sets the stage for her departure from the toxic Gu family. With the compensation money and her new space, Nan Jin is determined to build a better future, far removed from the schemes and abuse she endured.
