Double Jade's fate

In an ancient Chinese setting, it was believed that having twins brought misfortune to families; one child was destined to live, while the other faced death. Duke Su defied this belief by sparing the life of his daughter, ShungYun, at the urging of his loving wife. She was secretly raised in the countryside to ensure her safety, away from societal prying eyes. Fast forward to the age of 15, ShungYun receives an imperial decree to marry one of the princes. As her sickly and cherished sibling is deemed unsuitable for marriage, her older twin takes on the role, unaware of the life she's stepping into. Upon entering the opulent palace, ShungYun, now a naive outsider, disrupts the regal routines of Prince Xian Wen, a disciplined 18-year-old military general focused solely on his martial arts training and strategic lessons from his older brother. Prince Xian Wen has a childhood sweetheart he desires to wed, but societal pressures and opposition abound. After a five-year absence at an outpost, he hears amusing tales of his wife's antics in the capital, yet upon his return, he discovers that the woman he loves no longer matches the image of his former sweetheart. Despite this revelation, his wife offers him friendship, a longing he wishes could deepen. As ShungYun navigates the complexities of her new life, she struggles to maintain her individuality amidst the constraints of her highborn status.
