Due to a series of unplanned event twists, he ends up captured by Jasper and is imprisoned in the latter's lonely castle.
Adrian ends up as a steward and test object for Jasper. Jasper on the other hand slowly develops feelings for Adrian. He obsesses over him too and before long, the two develop a strong magical-romantic bond.
