It has been 85 years since Earth-11 aligned with Yggdrasil, and 73 years since Icon became the first demigod from Earth. As the first demigod, Icon had the privilege to weave the thread of fate for all. His mission was to sever Yggdrasil and free Earth-11 from the influence of other Earths and their god kings. That's why everyone helped him ascend the Tower of Destiny. Instead of freeing Earth from Yggdrasil, he transformed the destiny of mankind into seven rings of immortality.

The first ring granted immortality through power. The second ring offered immortality through knowledge. The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth rings provided immortality of the mind, energy, body, and soul, respectively. The final ring, the Ring of the Paragon, was designed to rule them all.

Icon kept the Ring of the Paragon for himself and became a dictator, ruling with an iron fist for many years. His reign was one of terror, but he was eventually defeated by the collective effort of the world. It has been 62 years since then. Although Icon is no more, the damage he inflicted remains. Earth-11 is still connected to Yggdrasil, and the deadly games within the Tower of Destiny continue. The struggle for the seven rings of immortality persists.

Kelvin Thorn has just awakened his ability, which came at a crucial time as he was running for his life. The ability he awakened saved him but came with a cost: he must climb the Tower of Destiny under the watchful eyes of the world and accumulate destiny, or he will die. His situation is not unique; anyone who awakens, which is most people, must climb the tower. This is one of the curses Icon left behind before his death. However, Thorn is different because the seventh ring found him.

The Tower of Destiny is where those granted power by destiny—be they humans, non-humans, or otherworlders—must compete in games of strength, skill, and knowledge to gather the power of destiny. They will either perish or overcome death. Kelvin will be among the latest in a line of billions engaged in this struggle.

After 50 chapters, I can now give a decent review of Destiny Games. Reading through the book summary, I got the impression that this novel had 2 main inspirations: Lord of the Rings and Supremacy Games. The only similarity between LOTR and this novel are the rings and one to rule them all. As for Supremacy games, there are definitely more similarities, but honestly this novel is much more interesting. The characters are not annoying, the world feels deeper, and the power system, while kinda generic, has room to grow and also pushes the MC to continuously improve himself. And considering that the amoral MC will do anything to survive, the games become actually interesting instead of just a showcase to show how great Felix is. Also, knowing Dmadlord, he will cook up some twists and turns down the line as well. Overall I recommend for people who are looking for a dark progression fantasy.

DESTINY GAMES is going to be a wild ride. I'll admit that it won't be for everyone. But if it is not clear after the first 3 chapters, I will state it now: Kelvin is the way he is because he was raised that way. Don't blame him. Blame his upbringing. Blame the Patriarch.
The story is essentially a competitive tower climb. There are 100 floors in the Tower of Destiny which corresponds to 100 games. The end goal is power and longevity. 
But not everything is as it seems. There is the struggle for the rings of immortality outside the games and also the influences of otherworlders. 
Like I said, it is going to be a wild ride. Give it a chance. Join me on this ride, or at least inform me as to why it is not for you. Either way, leave a review.
