Ye Zhi is a criminal investigator from a previous life who transmigrated into the body of a police squad leader in Dragon Harbor, District D, a cyberpunk metropolis in the year 3042. In this world, "Pseudo-Humans" are illegal humanoid entities designed to blend into society, and the law treats proving someone is a Pseudo-Human as grounds for severe legal and financial penalties. Ye Zhi spends her days patrolling the neon-lit, rain-soaked streets, arresting disguised entities while grappling with the absurdity of her new bureaucratic life under the incompetent Director Niu. Her primary motivation is to find a way back to her original world, a goal that seems impossible given the lack of any clear method of return.
During a late-night shift, Ye Zhi chases an owl that steals her communication ring through the city's labyrinthine alleys. The bird leads her to a hidden establishment called the "Sin Realm–Celestial Tier," run by a humanoid owl named Mr. O. Mr. O reveals that the club can grant wishes in exchange for points earned through various games. To retrieve her ring and test the club's power, Ye Zhi agrees to a trial match. She is transported into a virtual casino-like dimension where she encounters Park Zhi Fei, a cheating opponent aided by a signal-calling monkey. Using her investigative skills to detect the cheating and a minor ability to alter object temperature, Ye Zhi defeats him, winning his points and exposing the brutal reality that losers with zero points become "debt dogs," enslaved to their victors.
After the match, Ye Zhi encounters Zhu Fusang, a famous film superstar, and Hua Xuan, a mysterious young woman, both of whom are real players in this extradimensional club. Zhu Fusang reveals that the club is not merely a game but a serious arena where high-stakes gambling determines social hierarchy and survival. Following a pseudo-human attack at a public event where Ye Zhi saves Zhu Fusang, she is injured by a neurotoxin. Zhu Fusang uses her accumulated points to heal Ye Zhi's arm, forging a bond between them. Ye Zhi also begins receiving cryptic emails from an unknown sender warning her to "not add" certain contacts, hinting at a deeper conspiracy within the club.
Driven by desperation to return home, Ye Zhi signs a formal contract with Mr. O. The contract grants her a wish without point deduction: to return to her original world in perfect health. However, when the wish is fulfilled, she finds herself still in Dragon Harbor. Mr. O explains that her wish was technically granted, but the nature of her "birth world" or the conditions of her return were misinterpreted or altered by the club's rules. Ye Zhi realizes she is trapped in a system where points decay hourly, forcing her to continue playing to survive. With no immediate way out and her causality marked as exceptionally high, she must navigate the dangerous politics of the Sin Realm, avoid becoming a debt dog, and uncover the truth behind the club's power and her own entanglement in this cyberpunk underworld.
